QCU Grow is available for teens ages 13–17.

Do I need to visit a branch to open QCU Grow?

Yes—QCU Grow accounts are opened in person so we can walk you and your teen through everything together. Our team will make the process quick and easy.

How does parental guidance work with QCU Grow?

A parent or guardian is required to be a joint owner on all QCU Grow accounts.

What does my teen need to bring to open a QCU Grow Account?

A parent or guardian, along with the teen will need to visit a QCU branch to open the account. Here’s what you’ll need to bring when you visit the branch:

For the parent or guardian (joint owner):

  • A valid government-issued photo ID

For your teen:

  • A Social Security card or birth certificate
  • One form of identification, such as:
    • School ID
    • Driver’s license
    • Passport

If the parent or guardian is not already a Quincy Credit Union member, they can apply for membership before visiting the branch to help make opening a QCU Grow account easier.

How can teens use their QCU Grow debit card?

Teens receive a QCU Grow debit card for everyday purchases. The card can be used with supported mobile wallets like Apple Pay and Google Wallet, and may also be connected to payment apps like Venmo or PayPal.

Are there spending limits on QCU Grow debit cards?

Yes. QCU Grow debit cards are designed with lower spending and withdrawal limits to help support safe, everyday use for teens.

Can teens use QCU Grow for direct deposit or a first job?

Yes. Teens can use QCU Grow for direct deposit, including paychecks from a job. QCU Grow helps teens build real-world money skills like budgeting, saving, tracking spending, and using a debit card responsibly—all with parental guidance built in.
